Daniel Craig was honored at the 34th annual Evening Standard British Film Awards.

Craig was named best actor for 'Casino Royale,' his debut outing as James Bond. Craig, who has won both critical praise and box office favor as the first blond Bond, is also up for the best-actor prize at next week's British Academy Film Awards.

28th January 2007 - Pierce Brosnan hails Daniel Craig as best Bond

1st August 2006 - New video shows Casino Royale poker scenes

An RTL television entertainment news report for "Casino Royale" aired in Belgium this week, and James Bond fans were quick to post an online version. The video contains new footage of three key scenes from the third act of the movie.

30th July 2006 - Casino Royale storyboard file left in pub

The folder contained a 19-page storyboard which reveals how Daniel Craig's 007 battles to stop bad guy Carlos, played by Claudio Santamaria, from driving a fuel tanker into an airplane.

The file was discarded in the Three Compasses pub in Cranleigh, located just outside London. It has been returned to film-makers, and is thought to have been lost by a member of the movie's crew.

30th July 2006 - 007 stage at Pinewood Studios wrecked by fire

BBC News and Sky News this morning have reported that the 007 Stage at Iver Heath, UK has be wrecked by fire the second time in its life time.

The BBC News report: At least eight fire engines tackled the blaze at the set, where filming for the new movie Casino Royale has finished. The large sound stage had been transformed into a replica of the Italian city Venice....Full Story

21st July 2006 - Chris Cornell says he is Casino Royale theme song writer and performer

According to an interview in a Finnish newspaper, singer songwriter Chris Cornell has revealed he has written the theme song to the 21st James Bond film "Casino Royale".

Cornell will also perform the title track. This would make him the first male lead vocalist to perform a 007 song since A-Ha in 1987 for "The Living Daylights"....Full Story

20th July 2006 - James Bond 22 officially announced, release date set for 2nd May 2008

It was announced today by producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. and Sony Pictures Entertainment, that the 22nd James Bond adventure will be released by Columbia Pictures on May 2nd, 2008 with Daniel Craig reprising the role of the legendary British secret agent.

The story for the latest James Bond film produced by the franchise holders, EON Productions has yet to be announced.

"As we wrap production on Casino Royale we couldn't be more excited about the direction the franchise is heading with Daniel Craig.

Daniel has taken the origins of Ian Fleming's James Bond portraying, with emotional complexity, a darker and edgier 007," said Wilson and Broccoli.

16th July 2006 - Tabloids report that Daniel Craig is signed up to play Bond again

Tabloids in the UK are reporting today that new James Bond actor Daniel Craig as been given another licence to thrill next year.  According to The News of The World, Craig has "sealed a deal to play 007 in a sequel to Casino Royale.

Broccoli is so sure he'll be a box-office hit, she got him to sign on the dotted line for months before the release of his debut film."  This is hardly fresh news for Bond fans.

14th July 2006 - Activision's Treyarch Working On Bond License

According to a new job posting displayed on Activision's official website, it's been revealed that the company's Treyarch development studio (Spider-Man 2, Call Of Duty: Big Red One) is working on the publisher's first James Bond game.

8th July 2006 - Casino Royale on-set pictures from filming at Eton cricket ground

The Casino Royale first unit was at the school's cricket pavilion to film part of the opening sequence of the movie, where James Bond performs one of the two kills he requires for 00 status.

Craig can bee seen hugging a friend and signing pictures for a young fan. The filming took place on Wednesday July 6th....More Pictures

8th July 2006 - Casino Royale banner appears at Cine Expo event in Amsterdam

The Casino Royale banner that appeared on the Carlton Hotel during the Cannes Film Festival popped up again last week.

The banner for the forthcoming James Bond film was displayed outside the Cine Expo event in Amsterdam between June 26th and 29th.

25th May 2006 - Casino Royale crew members injured

The following statement has been issued by the producers of Casino Royale:

“We regret to report that yesterday, whilst preparing the 2nd unit filming location in the UK, two of our construction workers were injured whilst dismantling a lighting rig. Both men were taken to a nearby hospital where one was released with some bruising. The other has been kept in for treatment but is in a stable condition. The main unit is currently shooting in the Czech Republic and Italy and will be returning to the UK later in June.”

Czech newspaper iDNES have scooped some spy shots from the set of the forthcoming James Bond film "Casino Royale".

The photos come from Karlovy Vary station which is doubling for another train station in the film, as Bond and Vesper arrive at the Casino Royale for his high stakes game against Le Chiffre.

18th May 2006 - Craig to be put on a fitness regime

JAMES Bond star Daniel Craig has been put on a strict diet after piling on the pounds during filming, according to The Mirror.

The actor, 38, has been ordered in to the gym after gorging on hearty soups served with belly-busting dumplings on the set of Casino Royale in Prague.

When Bond producer Barbara Broccoli spotted him looking a bit tubby she called in a personal trainer to get him back in top shape. A source said: "The producers were worried when he appeared to have gone soft around the edges. They got a fitness expert to whip him into shape."

4th May 2006 - 007's new wheels

Aston Martin have pulled out the stops with the latest DBS model, 007's new car in the film Casino Royale. Bond first got behind the wheel of an Aston Martin in 1964, during his epic battle with Goldfinger.

The distinctive British sports car has been an integral part of his super-smooth image ever since. Rumours that Craig will be driving a Ford Mondeo still remain.
