9th August 2006 - Daniel Craig claims he will be the baddest Bond ever - reports The Mirror.

New James Bond Daniel Craig has vowed his 007 will be the baddest ever.

Craig, 38, insists he has injected some evil into the suave secret agent and claims fans will be shocked by his take on the character.

He said: "I think there has to be an element of cruelty. Certain things he does should be questionable. I think you should go, 'F**k, that's not nice'. He IS an assassin."

Craig, whose first outing as Bond comes in November with the release of Casino Royale, has been given a rough ride by 007 fans who have dubbed him James Bland.

And he told US magazine Esquire he was not amused by the criticism. He added: "You lose your sense of humour rapidly. But I vowed to work twice as hard to get it right."
